“X” Gender Marker Available for Birth, Death, and Marriage Certificates in NYS

In a win for transgender, non-binary, and gender nonconforming people, the NYS Department of Health announced there will now be an “X” gender option on birth, marriage, and death certificates! Everyone deserves to have their gender identity accurately represented, and the “X” gender option is getting us closer to that.
