SUMMARY:Transgender Day of Remembrance-Watertown
DESCRIPTION:Transgender Day of Remembrance is a day for communities to come together and remember the people we have lost due to anti-transgender violence or suicide. It is an opportunity to raise awareness about the threats transgender people face on a daily basis and what we can all do to make the world a safer place for the transgender community. It is also a space for the transgender community and allies to honor the people we have lost. \nThis annual event also invites the community to come together in grief and solidarity\, to celebrate resilience\, and to reaffirm our collective commitment to justice\, compassion\, and visibility. \nThe event features a non-denominational prayer/healing service\, keynote and community speakers\, a reading of names\, art show and resource fair. Light refreshments are included and the event is open to the public.
