ACR Health offers extensive Youth Prevention and Education programming for all youth throughout its nine-county service area.
The Adolescent Health Initiative is a targeted prevention program focused reducing the rates of HIV/AIDS, STDs, Hepatitis C, substance use, and teen pregnancy among youth. The program equips young people with information and skills to make healthy choices throughout their lives by providing evidence-based sexual health education sessions, Peer Education workshops, HIV, STD, and Hepatitis C testing, and linkages to local health and human service providers.
LGBTQ youth programs feature the Q Center Central New York, Q Center Mohawk Valley, and the Q Center Northern New York which provide a safe place for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth and their families and allies to gather. The centers offer HIV, STD, and Hepatitis C testing; provide after school drop in programs, leadership and advocacy training, special events. Case Management services are available for LGBTQ youth who need assistance with housing, advocacy, medical care, mental health services, and other special needs.
